Stamford Resident Charged In Matricide, More Federal Convictions For Stamford Drug Dealers

Anthony Fiordelisi, 60, 155 Sylvan Knoll Road, Stamford, was arrested Wednesday at 11:21 p.m. and charged with murder of his mother, Maria Fiordelisi, by the Stamford Police Department.

"On Tuesday 01/10/12 the Stamford Police was dispatched to 155 Sylvan Knoll Rd for a report of a Crime Scene. Upon arrival we discovered Anthony Fiordelisi suffering from several self inflicted wounds to his wrists. Officers discovered his Mother Marion, who was deceased, in her bed in an upstairs bedroom," SPD reports. 

"She was discovered with a severe laceration to her right wrist. Anthony relayed at the scene that he gave her a large amount of prescription drugs, in an attempt to end her life, and he also took a large amount of prescription drugs to end his life. He awoke and decided that he wanted to make sure she was deceased so he slashed her wrist and he did the same to himself," SPD reports.

Fiordelisi is currently being held on $500,000 bail and will appear in court later this week.

Joseph R. Donch, 50, 597 Pacific Street, Stamford, was arrested Tuesday and charged with three conunts of assaulting a police officer, one count of interfering with a police officer, and one count of breach of peace.

Jairo Arevalo-Auguilar, 25, 31 Hartford Ave., Stamford, was arrested Tuesday for improper use of a marker.

Kristin Marie Beriau, 25, Bridgeport, was arrested Tuesday for breach of peace and third degree assault.

Shele L. Hammett, 45, Stamford, was arrested Tuesday and charged with third degree robbery, third degree assault, and sixth degree larceny.

In other city-related crime news, convicted Stamford drug dealer Kevin "Ghost" Sims, 33, of Stamford, was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison on Tuesday. Sims is latest former resident to be sentenced as a result of federal anti-drug operation Big Loot, which has resulted in dozens of convictions in the state thus far.

"According to court documents and statements made in court, between July and November 2009, SIMS purchased approximately 145 grams of crack cocaine from local narcotics suppliers and sold the drugs to others for profit," the U.S. Department of Justice reports.
