Stamford Man Accused of Trying to Steal Copper Wire from Home Depot


A pair of area men are facing attempted larceny charges after they reportedly tried to steal a spool of copper wire from Home Depot.

The men, identified as Jonathan Acuna, 23, of Hope Street, Stamford, and Gary D. Cappiello, 31, of Ledgebrook Drive, Norwalk, were arrested June 10, according to the Fairfield Citizen

Acuna is accused of leaving the store with the copper spool, valued at $600, and putting into a car where Cappiello was waiting, according to the report.

Each was charged with conspiracy to commit fifth-degree larceny from the Home Depot located at 541 Kings Highway.

The men were released on promises to appear June 17 in state Superior Court in Bridgeport.
