are investigating a shoot-out that occurred on Ludlow Street Tuesday night that resulted in a 26-year-old man being injured and a bullet striking a woman's mattress, according to Lt. Dedrich Hohn.
At around 10:30 p.m., Hohn told Patch, two men were seen shooting several rounds at a group of people in front an apartment building at 41 Ludlow Street. One bullet struck one man in his back and shoulder, while another went through a window of the building and struck a resident's mattress while she was laying in it, according to Hohn. She was not injured.
A member of the group that was attacked retaliated by shooting back, Hohn said, resulting in another bullet striking a building at 82 Ludlow Street.
According to police, witnesses saw two men run down Cedar Street following the incident and place something under a dumpster. Officers later found a .45 semiautomatic and a .357 revolver at that location. The two men, Hohn said, were later seen getting into a red Jeep, which was later found abandoned at Fairway supermarket.
The injured man was taken to l, is described as being in "guarded" condition and is not cooperating with police, Hohn said.
He added that none of the casings collected from the scene matched the guns that were found at the dumpster.
According to the Stamford Advocate, the Jeep found at Fairway is being processed as evidence.
