Man Found Stabbed on Stamford Street

The 25-year-old victim suffered a stabbing that missed his heart by 2 millimeters, police said.

At approximately 11:30 p.m. Sunday night, a 25-year-old Hispanic male was stabbed in the chest during an altercation, Stamford police announced Monday.

The male was found on Main Street with the wound and transported to Stamford Hospital. The wound was determined to have originated from a knife, and Lt. Diedrich Hohn said it missed the victim's heart by 2 millimeters.

Hohn said the victim was highly intoxicated and couldn't recall for police what had happened in the incident that led to the stabbing. There is currently no suspect in the case, but police are checking video tapes from the surrounding area businesses.
