Man Attacks Teen Girl on Street
The suspect was restrained by Good Samaritans until authorities arrived.
Authorities responding to a call of a man attacking a teenage girl on Manhattan Street late Saturday evening found the suspect still on scene - being restrained by Good Samaritans.
Hector Hernandez, 30, of Williams Street, faces various charges including assault, threatening, unlawful restraint and risk of injury to a child after he allegedly threatened a 15-year-old girl as she walked out of her house, then grabbed her by the pony tail and started dragging her down the street, police said.
The victim reported to police that Hernandez appeared as she exited her residence on Garden Street and started yelling threats against her life at her as she walked down the street, according to authorities.

The victim said she'd never seen Hernandez before the incident.
When friends and neighbors witnessed the attack, they restrained Hernandez until police arrived on scene. Hernandez appeared to be under the influence of alcohol, according to police.

Hernandez is scheduled to appear in court April 16. Bail was set at $25,000.
Other Arrests
Omar Earl Dowding, 24, of Lafayette Street, was arrested after allegedly entering the home of his son's mother and assaulting her, striking her in the face and unlawfully restraining her during the assault, police said.
