Man Arrested in Stamford Pleads Guilty to Illegally Reentering US

The 43-year-old man has twice been removed from the United States only to find his way back.

The Office of the United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut announced Wednesday the guilty plea of a 43-year-old Honduran man to one count of illegally reentering the United States.

Miguel Antonio Contreras Martinez, who last resided in Stamford, was twice previously removed from the United States to Honduras and, after each removal, returned to the U.S. without lawful permission to enter the country.

The charge of illegally reentering the U.S. carries a maximum term of imprisonment of 10 years and a fine of up to $250,000.  A judge has scheduled sentencing for November 21, 2012.
