Local Organizations Team Up to Help Family of Injured Stamford Cop

The Stamford Police Association, Darien Police Association and Fairway Market in Stamford will all play a role in events to aid the family of Officer Troy Strauser.

 

Two local organizations have announced they will be holding fundraising events for , who was .

The Darien Police Association will host a pig roast on Sunday, July 8, at 1 p.m. at the Piedmont Lounge, 152 Heckler Ave., Darien. Tickets are $40 and will get attendees all the roast pig, clams, hamburgers, hotdogs, beverages and more they can eat.

On Wednesday, July 11th, will host a in its Stamford store at 699 Canal St. between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. Shoppers who register by filling out an entry form that they hand in to the cash register will have 25-percent of their total purchases for that trip donated to Strauser's family.

All funds raised by both events will go to help the Strauser family, who have faced increasing financial difficulties after Off. Strauser fell 20-feet from a bridge onto I-95 while chasing a robbery suspect. .

“For officers, it is comforting to know that the Stamford community is there for us” said Sergeant Joe Kennedy, the President of the Stamford Police Association. “We are thankful for the Darien Police Association and the Fairway Market for making this happen during this difficult time.”   ·
