I-95 Closed in Both Directions

Reported gas leak causes shutdown at exit 37.

 

Update at 12:09 p.m.:

The following information is from the Milford Police Department:

Emergency personnel from the Milford Fire Department, Milford Police Department and Connecticut State Police are currently dealing with a ruptured gas line fire on Interstate 95 in the vicinity of Exit 37 in Milford.  

The following roadways are closed at this time:

  • I-95 Southbound at Exit 39
  • I-95 Northbound at Exit 36
  • High Street (between the Boston Post Road and Zion Hill Road)

Motorists are urged to use alternate routes at this time.

Due to a reported gas leak, Milford Fire Department has asked the state to shut down I-95, North and South Bound at exit 37, according to Paul Vance, Connecticut State Police Commanding Officer.
