Port Chester Heroin Deal Yields Felony Drug Arrest of City Man

Port Chester police on Thursday arrested a 35-year-old city man on felony drug charges following a heroin sale in the parking lot of a fast food restaurant on Route 1.
Damian James (pictured), of 8 Palace Place, was arrested by warrant at 12:56 p.m. and charged with two counts each of third-degree criminal possession of controlled substance and third-degree sale of a controlled substance.
Three days earlier, on Nov. 4, detectives parked near McDonald’s at 321 Boston Post Road, observed a man walk up to a pickup truck occupied by a man and woman, and complete a hand-to-hand transaction.

After it was over, police caught up with the buyer’s vehicle as well as the pickup, and arrested two men on the misdemeanor charge of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Lt. James Ladeairous identifed the buyer as 31-year-old Joseph Imbesi of Port Chester, and the man in the pickup as Gregory Letendre, 27, of Stamford.

Following the Nov. 4 arrests, police ascertained the identify of the dealer—James—and obtained the warrant for his arrest, Ladeairous said.
