Gunmen Rob $700 From Stamford Bodega

Two men, one of whom was brandishing a silver handgun, stole $700 from a bodega on Stamford's West Side Monday night.

According to Stamford Police Lt. Diedrich Hohn, the pair entered the Star Grocery store at 114 W. Broad St., shoved the female clerk against a wall and took about $700 from the cash register. The robbery was reported at 9:44 p.m., July 8.

The pair ran up Adams Avenue, behind the Cloonan School, Hohn said. The department's canine unit was brought in and the dog was able to track the suspects to the Rippowam River in Scalzi Park.

The suspects were described as black males, in their early 20s, both wearing dark-colored hoodies with one wearing camouflage pants.
