Greenwich woman arrested in Stamford

She was observed behind a hotel engaging in suspicious activity with a minor, police said.

A 29-year-old woman from the Cos Cob section of Greenwich was arrested during the early morning hours after she was found acting suspiciously with a minor carrying drugs, police announced Tuesday afternoon.

Shalynda April Anderson, of Valley Road, was observed by a police officer parking in front of a hotel, running in and then running out at around 1 a.m. Tuesday morning, authorities said.

The officer pulled into the lot to investigate as he noticed the car had no front license plate and had pulled around to the back of the hotel and then stopped again, according to police reports.

Police said Anderson exited the vehicle she had been operating attempted to place herself between it and the first responding officer. When police inquired about the owner of the vehicle, Anderson said it belonged to a friend, though she could not remember which friend, police said.

After Anderson was detained, police said they discovered a small amount of marijuana in the front pocket of the passenger of the vehicle. They also discovered the vehicle to be a rental.

Anderson faces charges of resisting arrest and interfering with a police officer.
