A motorist whose driver's license reportedly was suspended because of a driving while intoxicated arrest faces several charges including another drunk driving charge after he was stopped by Greenwich Police.
According to a police report, police stopped Jose A. Martinez-Marquez, 25, of 32 Shippan Ave., Stamford, at 4:05 a.m. June 7 because he was "following a car unreasonably close" as he entered the northbound Exit 2 on-ramp of I-95.
A check with Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles records indicated Martinez-Marquez didn't have a valid driver's license and that his driving privileges had been suspended because of a previous driving while intoxicated arrest, according to the police report.
Martinez-Marquez reportedly had red, glassy eyes, slurred speech, smelled of alcohol and failed field sobriety tests, according to the report.
Martinez-Marquez was charged with driving while intoxicated, operating under suspension — alcohol-related, operating under suspension — subsequent offense, operating without a license, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, no insurance and following too close.
He was released after posting $250 bond and is scheduled to appear June 23 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
