Original Story

The Stamford Police Department reports that an unidentified Greenwich man was found dead in Mianus River Park between 10:30 and 11:00 p.m. last night, having rode his mountain bike into the park and committed suicide.

"The Greenwich Police Department did a good job of tracking him down in a remote area," SPD captain Richard Conklin said. "The 53-year old Greenwich resident who frequented Mianus River Park was found hanging from a tree. It was suicide."

When the Greenwich Police Department found the man, they notified the SPD, as Mianus River Park is within SPD's jurisdiction.

"He rode his mountain bike there often, and he rode it down to where he was found. There bike was found with him," Conklin said.

SPD has not disclosed the identity of the deceased Greenwich male, as his family has not yet been notified.
