The nephew and godson of former Stamford Mayor and current Connecticut Gov. Dannel Malloy is facing charges stemming from a reportedly drunken incident at a downtown yeshiva earlier this week.
The incident occurred at the Yeshiva Bais Binyomin on Prospect Street, just a block away from the Stamford Police headquarters.
Kerry Malloy, 28, of 96 Verplank Rd., Stamford, who's an actor, was charged along with his girlfriend Courtney Wilson, 29, of 132 Woodside Green, Stamford. They each were charged with first-degree criminal trespassing, breach of peace and conspiracy after they allegedly walked into the yeshiva shortly after 8:30 a.m. Dec. 23 and refused to leave.
Stamford Police reported that Malloy and Wilson refused to leave the school, claiming they had a constitutional right to observe and question the Jewish religion, according to a report in The Advocate of Stamford. Police said the couple was drunk and that students in the classroom where they were found, were fearful for their safety.
The couple was escorted from the property but reportedly returned less than an hour later and arrested. Malloy is accused of refusing to be fingerprinted or allowing his mugshot to be taken by arresting officers.
Malloy, who has a role in the film "The Wolf of Wall Street," and Wilson were able to post $500 bonds and were scheduled to appear Jan. 6 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
