Former Stamford Teacher to Begin Serving Jail Sentence Next Week

Tricia Coccomo, a former teacher at Rogers International, will turn herself in on Tuesday, according to the Stamford Advocate.

Former Stamford resident Tricia Coccomo, a former second-grade teacher at who was convicted in 2007 for causing a head-on collision that killed three people in another car, will begin serving a 12-year sentence next week, according to the Stamford Advocate.

The state Supreme Court denied a motion last week to reconsider Coccomo's conviction, which was overturned in 2009 by the state Appellate Court on the basis that the trial judge improperly allowed evidence showing that Coccomo transferred her half-ownership of her Stamford home to her mother for $1 several days after the accident. The state Supreme Court in November.

Coccomo will turn herself in on Tuesday at in Stamford, according to the Advocate.
