DUI Charge for Man, 52, at I-95 Entrance

When a car didn't stop on Ledge Road, just before entering Interstate 95, police stopped it and then determined the driver was intoxicated, Darien police said.

 

When police saw a 2012 Lexus driving very slowly at about 12:52 a.m. Sunday and turn from the Post Road onto Ledge Road, they started following the car, according to police reports.

The driver, Vincent Denardo, 52, of Stamford, drove further on Ledge Road and failed to stop at the stop sign just before the westbound lanes for Interstate 95.

Police determined he had been drinking and gave him field sobriety tests, which he failed. Denardo was charged with failure to stop at a stop sign and driving while under the influence.

Denardo, of Seaside Avenue in Stamford, was arrested and then released after posting a $250 bond. He is scheduled to appear March 7 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
