Danbury Man Arrested in Stamford on Burglary, Larceny Charges

26-year-old Trevor Travis will face multiple charges in connection with burglaries in Stamford, Darien, Fairfield and Norwalk.

Following an arrest last month on , Stamford police officers have once again arrested Danbury resident Trevor Travis, but this time, for burglary and larceny.

According to Sgt. Andrew Gallagher, the's property crimes supervisor, Travis, 26, of 477 Cowperthwaite Street, was arrested at the Stamford Motor Inn early Monday morning after two arrest warrants were obtained.

Officers found Travis with his girlfriend and what Gallagher described as an "amateur pawn shop" of jewelry, watches, cameras, computers and antique pins. A total of 690 pieces of evidence were collected.

According to Gallagher, based on some of the items found in the room, Travis is connected to burglaries in Darien, Norwalk and .

One incident, which took place in Stamford on Jan. 6, caused $1,500 worth of damage to the home and an estimated $10,000 worth of items were stolen, the victims reported. Victims of another burglary in Stamford on Jan. 14 reported that $8,000 worth of items was stolen and $500 worth of damage was done to the home.

Travis is charged with third-degree burglary, second-degree larceny, first-degree criminal mischief and second-degree criminal mischief. He being held in lieu of a $50,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in on March 21.

Gallagher told Patch that a viewing of the evidence will take place at the Stamford Police Department on March 19.

Stamford police officers first arrested Travis at the Stamford Motor Inn on Feb. 8 after they received a tip that he was selling drugs on East Main Street. A total of 110 bags of heroin were found in Travis' possession. His girlfriend, Jennifer Boyts, was also found in possession of heroin. Officers also found evidence from previous burglaries in Stamford and Darien in Travis' room.

They were both arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, illegal possession of a narcotic, sale of certain illegal drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to keep narcotics in an organized container.
