Cops: Stamford Woman Tries Letting Air out of Cousin's Tires with Twig

Police responding to reports of a dispute on Henry Street Sunday night allegedly caught a Stamford woman red-handed as she attempted to discharge air from her cousin's car tires after being kicked out of the victim's home, authorities said Monday.

According to police, officers were informed one half of the dispute was currently puncturing the victim's tires with an ice pick at approximately 8 p.m Sunday. Police said they arrived on scene at 71 Henry to find Wilfreda Rafaela "Carmen" Ariza, 31, of Richmond Hill, bent down near her cousin's car. She allegedly stood up and dropped what police described as a "twig," when she spotted officers.

Police said Azira told them she'd been trying to let the air out of the victim's tires.

Ariza had been staying at her cousin's apartment and, after returning from a night out one evening, Ariza's cousin told her to get out, telling police Ariza had been nothing but problems, police said. The victim allegedly began packing Ariza's things for her when the two got into an argument that led to a physical altercation.

Police said the victim reported being punched in the left side of the head and had some of her hair ripped out. A neighbor reportedly broke them up at this point, police said. The victim had a puffy face, police said.

Ariza was charged with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct.
