Cops: Stamford Man Beat Girlfriend, Denied Her Medical Attention

A domestic situation resulted in a Stamford man facing assault and unlawful restraint charges Tuesday morning after he allegedly left his girlfriend with a broke nose and wouldn't let her receive medical attention for her injuries.

Lt. Diedrich Hohn said the initial incident occurred on July 14, but the victim wasn't able to report what happened until July 19.

Hohn said Cameron Michael Farzam, 22, of 72 Belltown Road, attacked his girlfriend during an argument, striking her in the face and breaking her nose, then breaking her cellphone so she couldn't call for help. He also allegedly refused to allow her to go to the hospital to receive medical treatment.

A friend finally convinced the victim to report the incident to police on July 19, Hohn said.

Farzam was charged Tuesday morning at approximately 7:36 a.m. with first-degree unlawful restraint, second-degree criminal mischief and second-degree assault. he was held in lieu of a $75,000 court-set bond and is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.
