Cops: Knife Fight Leads to Charges for Two Stamford Men

Authorities charged two men following a knife fight over employment-related issues, police said.

Two men were charged Sunday morning following an incident that allegedly escalated to a knife fight, police said Monday morning.

According to authorities, the responded to a call from 16 Hazel St., Apt. 2L for reports of a male that had suffered a stab wound. Upon arriving at the scene, police said they discovered ofur people in the apartment, 2 bleeding.

Authorities said further investigation led to the discovery of three additional parties in a bedroom who were sleeping.

Police said there were knifes scattered about, including a broken knife handle in the kitches, and a knife blade protruding through both sides of a bedroom door.

The two bleeding parties removed makeshift bandages made out of clothing to show officers they had each suffered knife wounds, police said.

Elder Matheu Lopes and Saturnino Vazquez-Ramos, both 32 and both residents of the apartment, told police the argument had begun fighting over work-related issues, according to authorities.

Police said the two other parties had attempted to separate them prior to the injured men slashing each other, but the situation escalated to the point where Vasquez-Ramos slashed at Lopes before retreating to a bedroom, where Lopes then put a knife through the door.

Lopes was held on a $50,000 bond. Vasquez-Ramos was charged with a $10,000 bond. Both were charged with assault causing serious bodily injury and carrying a dangerous weapon. They are each due in court June 28, 2012.

Jorge P. Abad, 32, Of Belden St., was charged Sunday evening with risk of injury to a child, disorderly conduct, criminal mischief and interfering with an officer.

Hernando Andres Aponte, 27, of West Ave., was charged Sunday afternoon with reckless driving, improper use of markers and operating a motor vehicle without a license.

Douglas R. Figueroa-Salazar, 22, Clark Hill Ave., was charged Sunday morning with breach of peace and criminal trespass.

Manuel S. Jimenez Mendieta, 41, of Quintard Ter., was charged Sunday night with disorderly conduct.

Alex Medina, 21, Sixth St. in Lomass, Mass., was charged Sunday evening with criminal mischief and disorderly conduct.

Simone Linda Medina, 27, of Fairfield Ave., was charged Monday morning with disorderly conduct.

Consuelo E. Ortiz De Diaz, 44, of Quintrard Terr., was charged Sunday night with disorderly conduct.
