Cops, Boy, 4, Left Home Alone, Found on Street

A 31-year-old mother of three left her four-year-old son home alone, and he was later found on a street corner, Stamford police said.

Police gave this account of what happened:

On Saturday, Rosa Condo-Perez of Greenwich Avenue walked with her three children to a bicycle helmet giveaway event held at Fairway supermarket.

She let her four-year-old boy play with her cell phone after they left their home, and by the time all four returned home, the boy had lost the device.

The mother then went out with the other two children -- an 18-month-old and a five-year-old --- to look for the phone, leaving the four-year-old behind.

Somehow, the boy got out of the house and made his way to the corner of Atlantic and Henry streets, where police found him after they were called.

Condo-Perez was charged with risk of injury to a minor, a felony.
