Cookie Monster Allegedly Attacks Stamford Bollywood Star's Son

A street performer in New York allegedly harassed the pair, upset the woman didn't have cash on hand to tip him for a photo.

Cookie Monster is apparently no fan of Bollywood films.

Bollywood star Parmita Kurada—known in India as Parmita Katkar—and her 2-year-old son Samay Katkar, of Stamford, were harassed by a street performer dressed as Cookie Monster, the New York Daily News reports.

The former Miss India Asia Pacific and her son snapped a photo with Cookie Monster, actually Osvaldo Quiroz-Lopez, 33, who then began to belligerently demand money and actually pushed the child, according to the report.

Quiroz-Lopez allegedly cursed at the family on Sunday, April 7, and left the boy scarred, Kurada reportedly told police. 

All this occurred while Kurada's husband, Sagar, had actually gone to an ATM to retrieve money to give to the performers, the report says.

Quiroz-Lopez was charged with child endangerment and aggressive begging.
