City Man Caught Stealing Scooter

Freddy Hicks, 44, grabbed the victim's scooter and was later found by police on Ludlow Street.

 

A 44 year-old city man was arrested Friday morning after he was caught with a stolen Honda scotter, according to police.

The complainant contacted police at 4:13 a.m. and said that he was standing on Ludlow Street next to his scooter and talking to two males when one of them suddenly pushed him down, grabbed the scooter and ran off.

When officers arrived, they found Freddy Hicks of Cedar Street, Stamford, pushing the scooter down Ludlow Street. He was placed under arrest and charged with second-degree robbery, third-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit second-degree robbery and conspiracy to commit third-degree larceny.

Hicks' bond was set at $15,000 and he is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 29.
