City Man Arrested at Target for Stealing Baby Formula

A 26-year-old Bridgeport man was arrested on Tuesday after received a call from Target on Broad Street that he been caught attempting to steal over $600 worth of baby formula.

According to Sgt. George Moran, Target's security alerted the department after William McNeil of 68 Sheridan Street was seen walking past the registers and towards the elevator carrying a large plastic bag filled with cans of Enfamil that he had not paid for. McNeil was already at street level when security officers caught up to him. The suspect attempted to run, Moran said, but security was able to capture and hold him until police arrived.

McNeil was charged with 5th-degree larceny and his bond was set at $1,000. He is scheduled to appear in court on April 3.

A 51-year-old Waterbury man was arrested on Tuesday after officers found him in possession of a stolen car, according to police.

Patrol officers were on the South End of the city when their lo-jack tracker alerted them to a car that was reported as stolen. After confirming the car's description, which was a black 1998 Mazda 626, they drove around until they located it in a parking lot. Melvin Person of 316 Wall Street was found sleeping in the back when officers approached the car.

Person was charged with third-degree larceny and his bond was set at $5,000. He is scheduled to appear in court on April 3.

Vincent Cafolla, 33, of 324 Strawberry Hill Ave., Norwalk, was arrested on March 20 at 5 p.m. and charged with reckless driving and failure to drive in a proper lane.

Jerry Cook, 56, of 295 Putnam St., Bridgeport, was arrested on March 20 on 3:30 p.m. and charged with violation of probation.

Angela Iannotta, 59, of 482 West Main St., Stamford, was arrested on March 20 at 1:58 p.m. for second-degree threatening and disorderly conduct.

Joevanie Martinez, 30, of 9 Hinkley Ave., Stamford, was arrested on March 20 at 7 p.m. and charged with possession of narcotics, sale of certain illegal drugs and failure to appear in court in the second degree.

Paul O'Brien, 45, of 597 Pacific St., Stamford, was arrested on March 20 at 10:46 a.m. for failure to appear in court in the second degree.
