Firefighters Put Out Blaze at Lockwood Ave. Home

No injuries were reported; two families displaced, according to Deputy Chief Tim Conroy.

Members of extinguished a fire at a two-family home at 129 Lockwood Avenue Monday afternoon that damaged the roof, but caused no injuries, according to Deputy Chief Tim Conroy.

Starting at 2:06 p.m., dispatch began receiving multiple calls that the home was on fire, Conroy said. Approximately 26 firefighters responded with four engines, a truck and rescue vehicle. Eight more firefighters responded about 10 minutes later to assist and the fire was put out in about 30 minutes, according to Conroy.

Conroy said that the fire started in the attic and caused major damage to the roof. Two families with five members each were displaced from the home and will receive assistance from the American Red Cross.

Conroy added that the cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
