Broken Nose Leads to Stamford Man's Arrest

An argument between two men sitting on the stoop of a building at 724 Pacific St., in the city's South End, ended with one of the men arrested on an assault charge.

During the argument one of the men was slugged in the nose, causing it to bleed. Someone gave the pugilist a gallon of water to disperse the blood that dripped from the victim onto the sidewalk, creating a larger bloody puddle that police found when they responded to the scene just before 1 p.m. June 18, a Stamford Police spokesman said. Police were able to convince the victim to seek treatment at Stamford Hospital for a possible broken nose.

The man arrested was Luis Alfredo Ruedas, 26, of 166 Selleck St., Stamford. He was charged with third-degree assault and two counts of second-degree failure to appear in court.
