2nd Suspect Caught in Stamford Bar Stabbing
Stamford Police say they have an arrest warrant for a third suspect, Steven 'Seagull' Barnes.
Stamford Police have arrested a second suspect and obtained an arrest warrant for a third man for their suspected involvement in a downtown bar fight that left two victims with stab wounds.
According to Lt. Diedrich Hohn said Wednesday that suspect Anthony S. McCoy, 24, of 8 Green St., Stamford, was arrested shortly before 5 p.m. July 9 when he arrived for a meeting with his probation officer. McCoy was charged with first-degree assault and conspiracy to commit first-degree assault in connection with the June 29 fight at the Bradford Bar & Grill, 83 Bedford St. His bond was set at $1 million.
Hohn also said that police also obtained an arrest warrant and are searching for Steven "Seagull" Barnes, 23, for the same charges. A third suspect, Tyshawn Lamar "Braz" Malachi, 22, of 100 Highview Ave., Stamford, was arrested July 4 and charged with first-degree assault and conspiracy to commit first-degree assault. He was held in lieu of $1million bond.
All three are accused of attacking the victim with a bottle, fists and stabbed him numerous times during the confrontation. Another person who came to the aid of the victim was stabbed in the head. Neither victim suffered life-threatening injuries.
Barnes is described as five-foot-eight and 150 pounds. According to police, he has ties to Stamford and Bridgeport and "has had violent tendencies int he past and has been a suspect in numerous serious assaults. He should be considered armed and dangerous."
