The firestorm over the February has sparked a second controversy, whether the hoodie the young man was wearing as he walked down the street contributed to his death.
Fox News host Geraldo Rivera suggested last week "that Trayvon Martin, the unarmed Florida teen shot dead last month by a neighborhood watch volunteer, courted violence by wearing a hoodie. That piece of clothing killed Martin, according to Rivera 'as surely as George Zimmerman'," Yahoo News reported.
On Tuesday, Rivera issued an apology on his Facebook page.
What do you think? Has the hoodie become a symbol of inner city crime and gang activity? Do you worry about what your child's clothing choices say about him or her? Or is a jacket just a jacket? Take our poll and add your thoughts in the comments.
