William F. 'Chic' Henry Sr., 86; Life-Long Stamford Resident

Calling hours are scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 11, with the funeral set for Thursday, Dec. 12.

William F. "Chic" Henry Sr., a former plumber for the Greenwich Housing Authority passed away at his Stamford home on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013. He was 86.

He was born in Stamford on Aug. 28, 1927 to the late Charles and Mary A. Leonard Henry.

Mr. Henry attended Stamford schools and was a lifelong resident of Stamford. He was a plumber with the Local #311, retiring from the Greenwich Housing Authority in 1998. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served from 1945 to 1946 during World War II, and from 1950 to 1953 during the Korean War.

Mr. Henry is survived by his son William F. Henry Jr. and his wife Stephanie of Stamford; his daughters, Diane Reinheimer and her husband Dean, and Debbie Clark, both of Indiana; his sister Patricia Urso; two grandchildren, Heidi Hope Hamelin and Hillary Atkinson, and three great-grandchildren Syrus, Xavier and Rainer.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters MaryLou Remy, Kay Riley, Doris Santora and his brother Charles "Toby" Henry.

Family and friends may call at The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 11. A funeral procession will be leave the funeral home at 9 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:30a.m. at The Basilica of St. John the Evangelist RC Church, 279 Atlantic St., Stamford. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Chic's memory to ASPCA, 424 East 92nd Street, New York, NY 10128-6804 or to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
