Obituary: Vera Gluz Lasko, 89, Lifelong Resident of Stamford

Vera Gluz Lasko, a life-long resident of Stamford, passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2014, at home. Born in Stamford on September 30, 1924, she was the daughter of the late John O. Gluz and Mary (Tyma) Gluz. She was 89.

Vera worked as a secretary at Pitney Bowes for 46 years. She was a member of the Pitney Bowes Oval Club and a member of St John's Episcopal Church in Stamford.

Vera is survived by her sister Sophia G. Wozniak, 15 nieces and nephews as well as many great nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her husband John William Lasko in 2010, her brother John Gluz and her sister Martha G. Munsie.

A calling hour will be held on Saturday June 21, at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Rd., Darien, CT 06820 from 10 to 11 a.m.

A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery in Stamford. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Noroton Fire Department, 1873 Post Road, Darien, CT 06820, or the charity of your choice.
