Obituary: Kathy J. Robustelli, Was a Teacher in Stamford Schools

Calling hours will be held Tuesday afternoon with a funeral Mass scheduled for Wednesday.


Kathy Joyce Robustelli, a teacher, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2013 at her Stamford home. She was 63.

With her family by her side, she faced her illness with courage, passion and conviction. Throughout her life and during this recent difficult time, her main priority was to love and care for her family. 

Kathy was born in Greenwich on March 22, 1950 to Edward and Lucy Carlo Joyce.

She graduated Stamford Catholic High School and went on to receive a Bachelor's Degree from Central Connecticut State University. She later achieved her Master's Degree from Fairfield University, after which she became a teacher at Toquam School, more recently teaching at Holy Spirit School, both in Stamford. 

In addition to her mother, Kathy is survived by her loving husband Richard A. Robustelli, her children; Marc and Margaret Robustelli, Katie Robustelli, Emily and Luke Kaufman and Gregory Robustelli; as well as three grandchildren, Mia and Anna Robustelli and Jack Kaufman, and one brother; Timothy and Kathy Joyce. 
Kathy was predeceased by her father Edward A. Joyce.

Kathy touched many lives. Her kindness, generosity of spirit and her love for friends and family will long be remembered. 

Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford, from 3 to 8 p.m., Tuesday July 2. 
A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, July 3,  and proceed to The Basilica of St. John the Evangelist RC Church, 279 Atlantic St., Stamford, for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at St. John's RC Cemetery, Darien.
