Mary Bialko, 74, Lifetime Stamford Resident

Mary Thomes Bialko, a lifetime resident of Stamford, passed away Sunday, May 25, at her home. She was 74.

Born on June 30, 1939, she was the daughter of the late William "Buck" Thomes and Mary Kane Thomes.

A graduate of Sacred Heart Academy, she was employed for many years by the late Dr. Hyman Nadel at his Glenbrook office. With a quick laugh and a terrific smile, Mary was a loyal friend and confidante. Mary faced her illness with a quiet dignity and no regrets.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Peter; her brother, William ("Bill"); and her nephew, Brian. She is survived by her brother, Thomas, and his wife, Sue of Fairfield; her brother Richard and his wife, Karen of Avon; and her sister-in-law, Pam of Trumbull.

Also surviving are her nephews, Steven, Sean (Autumn), Billy, and Kevin Thomes, and her niece, Melissa and her husband, Dan Hripak, and great nephews Nolan and Braden Hripak and a great niece, Jaedyn Thomes.

Calling hours will take place on Friday, May 30 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Rd., Darien.
