Lucille McKeever, 81; Accounting Office Manager, Northeast School Volunteer

Calling hours are scheduled for Wednesday, March 26, with the funeral to be held Thursday, March 27.

Lucille Marie McKeever, a longtime office manager for a Greenwich accounting firm, died at her Stamford home Saturday, March 22, 2014, following a long illness. She was 81.

Mrs. McKeever was born July 5, 1932, in an Arthur Avenue apartment in the Bronx, N.Y., to Joseph and Angelina Minicozzi, who both predeceased her.

She grew up in Oyster Bay, N.Y., on Long Island, and graduated from Oyster Bay High School. She later worked in the controller's office of Oyster Bay Town Hall, where she met her husband. Though she didn't like to travel far from home in her later years, she was always fond of talking about a cross-country trip she took by car with friends in her youth.

She worked at the front desk of Walter J. McKeever and Co., LLC, in Greenwich for more than three decades. Before that, she had volunteered for several years in the library at Northeast School in Stamford, where she resided for 47 years. She was a longtime member of Innis Arden Golf Club in Old Greenwich.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 50 years, Walter J. McKeever Jr. of Stamford; a daughter, Denise Doria of Stamford; a son, Kevin McKeever of Stamford; a son-in-law, Nicola Doria of Stamford; a daughter-in-law, Rhonda Pallas McKeever of Stamford; and two grandchildren.

A wake is scheduled for 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, March 26, at Castiglione Funeral Home, 134 Hamilton Ave., Greenwich. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10 a.m., Thursday, March 27, at St. Mary Parish, 178 Greenwich Ave., Greenwich. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her memory to help find a cure for juvenile myositis, the disease that affects her granddaughter. Donate either online at curejm.org or by mail to Cure JM Foundation, 836 Lynwood Drive, Encinitas, CA, 92024.
