Jane A. Olive, 102; Holy Name of Jesus Parishoner

Calling hours are scheduled for Friday, July 18, with the funeral to be held Saturday, July 19.

Jane A. Olive, 102, a lifelong resident of Stamford, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at Stamford Hospital with her family by her side.

Jane was born Nov. 30, 1911 in Stamford and was one of 11 children born to the late Julius and Victoria (Markiewicz) Koproski.

In her younger years Mrs. Olive worked for Yale & Town, Ronson, Schick and Pitney Bowes. She also attended and graduated from hairdressing school in New York, NY and worked part time as a hairdresser. She was longtime parishioner of Holy Name of Jesus Church in Stamford, and was faithful to her church.

Jane was known for her crocheting skills, especially the intricate gowns she made, and she enjoyed gardening and cooking for her family and friends. She loved when the family came together to celebrate special occasions and cherished the time she had with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed and her memory will live on in the hearts of her loved ones.

Mrs. Olive was predeceased by her beloved husband, Louis T. Olive in 1969, is survived by their loving daughters; Nancy Bogdanski and Cherie Olive, both of Stamford. She is also survived by a sister; Julia Cwalinski, of Florida, seven grandchildren; Michael Bogdanski, Michelle Morin, Melanie Patchett, Marceille Ashton, Melissa Cerulli, Melinda D'onofrio and Monique Arascunaga, 11 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her siblings; Alexander Koproski Sr., Valeria Koproski, Anthony "Pop" Koproski, Frank "Coke" Koproski, James Koproski, Joseph "Scotty" Koproski, Julius "Boop" Koproski, Helen Weber and Alice Yanicky and her son-in-law, John Bogdanski. 

Jane's family will receive the sympathy and condolences of friends and family, Friday, July 18, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Ave., Stamford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 19 at 11 a.m. at Holy Name of Jesus Church, 325 Washington Blvd., in Stamford. The committal service and interment will immediately follow at St. John R.C. Cemetery, 25 Camp Ave., in Darien.
