Esterina Crocco, 92; Member of the Sacred Heart Rosary Society

Calling hours are scheduled for Friday, Jan. 31, with the funeral to be held on Saturday, Feb. 1.

Esterina Stella Crocco, Stamford passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014 at Stamford Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was 92.

She was born in Luzzi, Italy on Oct. 24, 1921 to the late Eugenio and Maria Fazio Bevacqua.

Mrs. Crocco was a member of the Sacred Heart Rosary Society for more than 50 years and she enjoyed knitting, sewing, crocheting and cooking for her family. 

Mrs. Crocco is survived by her daughter Michele M. Crocco of Stamford, her son Michael Crocco Jr. and his wife Rita of Stamford, her sister Elvira DiFino of Italy, three grandchildren, Michael III, Tony and Tina, and her sister-in-law Enrichetta Crocco, of Stamford. Also surviving are several step-grandchildren, step-great grandchildren and step- great, great grandchildren. 

Besides her parents, Mrs. Crocco was predeceased by her husband Michael M. Crocco Sr.; her two stepdaughters, Anna Telesco Agostino and Sylvia Serafino, and her stepson Gerald Crocco.

Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford, from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, Jan. 31. 
A funeral procession will leave the funeral home Saturday, Feb. 1, at 9:20 a.m. and proceed to Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Ave., Stamford, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at St. John's RC Cemetery, Darien.
