Arthur Lucas III, 39; Stamford Resident Who 'Loved to Write Short Stories'

Calling hours are planned for Monday, July 14.

Arthur Lucas III , 39, of Stamford passed away suddenly, but peacefully on Sunday, June 29,2014.

He was born in Stamford on May 22, 1975 to the late Arthur Lucas Jr. and Norma A. Campolunghi.

Art loved to write short stories, play his guitar, sing and draw. He was extremely artistic. He had a great sense of humor and loved making us laugh, even when we didn’t want to. If you were lucky enough to be his friend, there was nothing he wouldn’t do for you. Art had a huge, loving and forgiving heart with endless room in it for everybody. He loved unconditionally and would never turn his back on the ones he loved. He will be deeply missed by so many. Art was truly one of a kind who marched to the beat of a different drum.

He is survived by his loving mother, Norma A. Campolunghi, five brothers, Bruce J. Rosa, Jr., Lemuel ( Chuck) Dickens, William, Mark and Jimi Shepard, a sister Tara Todd, his paternal grandmother, Constance Harrison and his second mother, Lenore Shepard Wargo. Also many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews surviving.

Besides his father, Art was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Domenico Maria Campolunghi, Julia Tamburri Campolunghi and his paternal grandfather, Arthur Lucas Sr.

Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford to celebrate Art’s life on Monday, July 14, from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment will be private.
