Registration is now open for the fourth annual Senior Services of Stamford Charity Golf Outing, which will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at Sterling Farms Golf Course in Stamford, CT.

Golf season is almost here, and it’s time for the fourth annual Senior Services of Stamford Charity Golf Outing.  Registration is now open for the tournament which will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at Sterling Farms Golf Course in Stamford CT and promises to be one of the finest amateur events of the season.  This year’s outing will honor Ernest N. Abate, who has served as a member of the Senior Services of Stamford Board of Trustees and Advisory Board.   All proceeds from this worthwhile event will benefit Senior Services of Stamford’s ongoing support to seniors in the greater Stamford area.

The festivities will begin with a pre-tournament luncheon and registration at 12:45pm in the Royal Green Restaurant, and the tournament will kick off with a shotgun start at 1:45pm.  In addition to the team awards, golfers will compete for individual prizes in closest to the pin, longest drive and putting contests. Winners will be announced at the Royal Clambake Dinner immediately following the tournament, where players will have a chance to mingle, dine and vie for special auction and raffle prizes.  Foursomes may enter at a cost of $700, or individuals may register at a cost of $185.  To register, visit http://ssosgolf.eventbrite.com or call 203-324-6584.

"This fundraiser is a great opportunity for the community to get involved and have fun for a great cause,” said tournament honoree, Ernest Abate.  “I spent many years as a Board member of Senior Services of Stamford and I'm honored to continue my association with such a fine organization and the good work that they do.  Funds raised through this event will improve the quality of life for seniors throughout the greater Stamford area," he said.
