Entertainment Journalist Giuliana Rancic Joins Stamford Hospital’s Effort to “Paint the Town Pink”

Stamford Hospital and the Carl and Dorothy Bennett Cancer Center will once again honor breast cancer survivors and promote the importance of breast cancer screening as part of the eighth annual Paint the Town Pink campaign in October. This year, the campaign also gets a boost of celebrity with the help of breast cancer survivor and entertainment journalist Giuliana Rancic, anchor of E! News, co-star of E! Fashion Police and co-star of the hit reality series Giuliana & Bill. Rancic will join the effort as the headliner for the campaign’s annual Girls’ Night Out event, presented in partnership with the Stamford Center for the Arts and scheduled to take place at the Palace Theatre on October 13 at 8 p.m.

Girls’ Night Out tickets can be purchased at www.scalive.org or by calling the Theatre’s box office at (203) 325-4466. $10 from each ticket will benefit Stamford Hospital’s breast cancer programs. Attendees can start the evening with happy hour at BUtterfield 8 Restaurant & Lounge on Bedford Street at 6 p.m. Ticketholders can enjoy free appetizers and half-price drinks.

In addition to Girls’ Night Out, this year’s Paint the Town Pink campaign will include many other special events. These run the gamut from mobile mammography screenings to a food and wine expo to a fashion show. Some major highlights from the calendar are included below.

  • Mile of Pink, Saturday, September 29, 10:30 a.m., Veteran’s Park. Supporters will line the streets of downtown Stamford and literally “Paint the Town Pink.”
