Dedicated Volunteer Pledges $2 Million to Fund Stamford Hospital Volunteer Resource Center

Stamford Hospital has received a $2 million charitable grant from Donna Brace Ogilvie, a dedicated volunteer, philanthropist and board member, to establish the Donna Brace Ogilvie Volunteer Resource Center.  Mrs. Ogilvie was honored for her continued commitment to Stamford Hospital with a luncheon at the Tully Health Center Brace Auditorium that bears her name and received well-wishes for her 103rd birthday.

            Mrs. Ogilvie’s history with Stamford Hospital began more than 60 years ago as a hospital volunteer where she amassed more than 9,000 hours of service. She also served as the President of the Auxiliary, Trustee of the Hospital, and a Director of the Foundation.  In 2010, on the occasion of her 100th birthday, Mrs. Ogilvie was honored at the annual Volunteer Recognition Dinner for her dedication and commitment to the Hospital. Her late husband, Dr. John Ogilvie, was the former Chief of Surgery at Stamford Hospital from 1966-72.

            The new Donna Brace Ogilvie Volunteer Resource Center will be a welcome enhancement to volunteer services at the Hospital, providing a place for all volunteers to gather, train and develop programs designed to benefit the patient experience and support our commitment to quality care in a healing environm
