STARescue Executive Director Heather Scutti says the shelter is overflowing with felines and they are happy to be able to help.  The funds for this program are being donated anonymously, with the hope that many cats will find loving homes.

Cats like "Sammy" a male domestic short-hair who has the distinction of being the cat who has resided at the shelter the longest.  Can we make Octopurrr the last month Sammy lives in a cage?

To take advantage of this promotion, simply adopt from the shelter and submit an application, which is avaialable at the shelter.

According to Stamford Animal Care and Control Director Laurie Hollywood, there are currently 8 cats and 14 kittens at the shelter.  Of course, that number changes regularly.  While the shelter recieves kittens year-round, Laurie explained that the fall 'kitten season' is one of the busiest they experience.

STAR was founded in 2012 by Heather and was inspired by the idea that "no animal should ever be abandoned."

Heather has been a strong supporter of helping homeless and misplaced animals find the comfort and love of a forever home.

Stamford Animal Rescue's mission is to provide medical care, temporary homes, food and emergency shelter to pets whose caretakers are struggling with economic hardship.  STAR’s long term vision is to ensure that no Connecticut pet guardian will ever have to abandon their pet due to economic hardship, and to ensure that all companion animals are treated with the dignity and respect they deserve.
