Watermelon at your next party

Creative ideas on how to serve watermelon this Summer.

Watermelon is so delicious and so sweet. This incredibe Summer fruit has a high water content and is also a good source of Vitamins A and C as well as potassium and lycopene, an antioxidant known to help in the fight against heart disease and several cancers. In addition to being good for you, it is pretty rare to find someone who doesn't like watermelon...so it's always sure to be a hit when you have a crowd to please.

I would like to share some great watermelon ideas for your next Summer gathering or party. They are all very delicous and creative. Instead of just slicing watermelon up and serving it on a plate with the usual dessert or in a fruit salad, try making a delicious watermerlon cooler that is served in a watermelon keg. It is easier than you think. You will need to order the Spigot online. See below and click on the links for the recipes and directions.

A woman's magazine, you can find in the register racks at grocery stores, had this fantastic shark carved out of a watermellon, full of little melon, etc. balls. Ah, found a link. http://www.watermelon.org/Carvings/Shark-30.aspx

Super great ideas Janine! I so love watermelon!! Elyse, I googled the watermelon shark for my son's birthday at school and opted for cookie cut out shapes on skews instead. You can punch letters too for their name or little messages...Super cute! AND for kiddos with birthdays that fall on/around August 3rd (It's national watermelon day!) Be sure to check out http://www.chickabug.com/blog/2011/08/watermelon-party-ava-is-4.html I love love love this birthday party set up! And the adorable watermelon nails! ;)
