STARescue - Stops Animal Abandonment

Stamford Animal Rescue is the areas first animal rescue group dedicated to stopping animal abandonment!

Stamford Animal Rescue has opened the areas first Pet Food Pantry to assist Connecticut residents and beyond feed their pets.

We will offer free pet food to pet caretakers struggling in these hard economic times so they do not have to abandon their pets.

Our goal is to keep pets out of the shelters and in their homes where they belong.

You can build all the shiny new animal shelters you want for abandoned pets, but we really need to address the issues of why they are being abandoned, and try to solve them. That is what Stamford Animal Rescue is doing.

Way to go Stamford Animal Rescue! I hope more cities will catch on to providing food to pets while their owners are in financially challenged times.

I agree, Carrie. I haven't heard about a pet food pantry before, and think it's a terrific idea.

Anything that can save and help animals AND help owners who are in financial crunch Though, here in New Canaan I only know one person who is in poverty...ME and I get ZERO support. My life stinks. http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/CT111.html Glen - Use Google for once in your life. There is free dog training in Stamford via the shelter referenced in this article. Stop complaining. You are not the only person in New Canaan without a giant pile of money or too many things to take care of. The rest of us just don't complain about it 24/7. Start writing snail mail letters and making phone calls to the people you believe are supposed to be helping you because they clearly are not hanging out reading comments on Patch. Also, you might want to stop being such a perv and commenting on the "hotness" of the ladies photos on Patch. It's creepy and I would imagine your wife would not be too happy about it.

Abe. Thanks for the tip on FREE dog training. now..see...was that so hard.. Next, I know there might be SOME folks not like Rockefeller. YET, they at least have happy lives. My life stinks. www.mylifesucks.com As for the Girls thing. Maybe I do use the wrong term SOMETIMES Guess, Princess or Lovely might be more proper

Is there a way to stop Glen from commenting on every single article? It is irritating and does nothing constructive for readers.

Do you really want to eliminate Glen if Patch posts on a subject like, "New Canaan Rips Up Old Sidewalks Outside Library"? He adds interest where befuddlement existed before. The nice thing is that his posts don't cost anything or add to our tax or debt burden. Go Glen.

We missed you too KerriAnn!

Glen has just as much right to post on here as everyone else. You can choose to ignore his posts, or you can choose to read them.

Anyway...enough with the bickering. I am a vet tech looking to volunteer at Pet Pantry. How or what do they need aside from food?
