The Stamford Mentoring Collaborative Open House

Mayor Pavia, Dr. Susan Weinberger join The Stamford Mentoring Collaborative to find mentors for thousands of area children in need

The Stamford Mentoring Collaborative, together with The Governor’s Prevention Partnership, will hold an Open House event to encourage members of the Stamford community to step up and become mentors.  Whether you live or work in Stamford, or simply care about helping kids, there are 4,000 Stamford youth who need help now.

Members of The Stamford Mentoring Collaborative, which represents a variety of area community organizations, will be present with information and resources to help prospective mentors learn about the rich diversity of Stamford mentoring, as well as to present the various mentoring opportunities that are available throughout the area.

During the presentation portion of the event, Mentoring Works! Awards also will be presented to Pitney Bowes, WWE, and UBS, for their long-standing commitments to mentoring.

The Stamford Mentoring Collaborative includes: 100 Black Men of Stamford, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwestern CT, Domus, Earn & Learn CT, Future 5, Stamford Police Boxing Program, Stamford Public Education Foundation, Stamford Youth Services Bureau, and the Yearwood Center.
