"Raise Your Glass, Raise Awareness. . . and Celebrate the Year of the Dragon

Join The Center for Sexual Assault Crisis Counseling and Education (“The Center”) at its 7th Annual Raise Your Glass, Raise Awareness Fundraising Event.  It will be held at a Bank Street Events in downtown Stamford on Thursday, April 26 at 6:30.  This event coincides with Sexual Assault Awareness Month, which is recognized nationally each year in April.   The evening, which is A Celebration of the Year of the Dragon, will benefit The Center for Sexual Assault Counseling and Education.

“We chose the theme of “The Year of the Dragon” because The Chinese Dragon symbolizes power and excellence, valiancy and boldness, heroism and perseverance.   A dragon overcomes obstacles until success.   We feel all these traits relate to survivors of sexual assault.  These traits also reflect the members of our community, who are increasingly understanding the importance of raising awareness around sexual assault in the hopes of one day living in a world free from sexual violence, “ said Lynn Tusa, Director of Development  for The Center.
