Ladies Who Launch Southwestern, Ct Partners with Housatonic Habitat for Humanity to Build a House.

Ladies Who Launch announced that they are putting a team of women together to help to build a home with Housatonic Habitat for Humanity.  Kathy McShane, Managing Director of Ladies Who Launch, Southwestern, Ct said, “I help women to build their businesses and the thought of helping to build a house was incredibly compelling to me. Therefore, I offered to get a group of my women together to help with this effort”.

“It will be a wonderful way for my ladies and me to give back to others in need” added Ms McShane. The “build’ will run from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Saturday, July 16 at Housatonic Habitat for Humanity’s current site at 6 Linden Place, Danbury. The women will learn how to use a hammer or hang sheet rock. No experience is needed just the willingness to learn and expand ones comfort zone.

About Housatonic Habitat for Humanity

Housatonic Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit, ecumenical Christian housing organization.  They seek to eliminate poverty housing from area sixteen towns including New Canaan, Wilton, Ridgefield Weston and Danbury and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action.  In view of that vision, their mission is to mobilize the local community to provide responsible home ownership opportunities to deserving families with limited income.

Their parent organization, Habitat for Humanity International, was founded in 1976 by Millard & Linda Fuller. Habitat for Humanity has built over 400,000 houses around the world, providing safe, decent, affordable shelter for more than 2 million people in over 90 countries.  A Habitat home is completed somewhere in the world every 21 minutes.
