Charity Bike Ride for Veteran's Group

Cyclists ride 100 miles from Stamford to Essex to benefit veterans organization.

Four bicyclists will ride 100 miles from Cove Island Park in Stamford to Essex on Saturday to raise funds for the  Connecticut Veterans Legal Center. Len Miller, Founder of SoundWaters, organized the ride to celebrate his 70th birthday and to re-enact a similar ride he took several years ago.
The riders will assemble at Cove Island Park at 7:30 a.m. Saturday and leave around 8:00 a.m.

The four 100-milers are Miller of Essex; Robin Hogen of Norwalk; Clif McFeely of New Canaan; and Luis Hernandez, a Westhill High School graduating senior. Other cyclists will ride either 50 or 25 miles. The mission of the Connecticut Veterans Legal Center is to help veterans recovering from homelessness and mental illness overcome legal barriers to housing, healthcare and income. It works closely with other organizations that are helping veterans lead meaningful and productive lives.
