UCONN's 6th Annual Juried Photography Show NOTE: RECEPTION DATE CHANGE

Stamford is pleased to announce its 6th Annual Juried Fine Art  Photography

Show and Sale
, to be held from December

12th, 2013 to January 23rd, 2014
in the Art Gallery. The Gallery

showcases photographs from amateur and professional photographers

The Artist’s Reception, open to the public, has been changed to Thursday Dec. 19, 4-6 pm. The University sponsors the Artist’s Reception, at which prizewinners will be announced. Last year’s winners included several Fairfield County residents. “This is one of our favorite exhibits, as it showcases the work of local talent and really brings the community into the University Gallery,” says Kerrie Mills, Art Gallery Board member.


Fine art photos in black & white or color may be viewed in the following categories: People and Portraits, Landscapes and City Scenes, Animals, Pictures That Tell a Story, Other Artistic and Creative Expressions. Additionally, the People’s Choice Award is conferred to one photo that receives the most votes from Gallery visitors.




About the Gallery: The UCONN Stamford Art Gallery is a large, inviting space located off the main Concourse, which serves as the heart of the UCONN campus in downtown Stamford, with easy access to parking and public transportation. Visitors enter the Gallery from the Broad Street Concourse or from a second entrance that is visible from Washington Boulevard and lit by a dramatic three-story light spine. Free parking is available on the 2nd level of the UCONN garage off of Washington Boulevard.





Hours:The Gallery is open Monday through Thursday 9 am to 7pm, Friday 9 am to 5 pm, and Saturdays 9 am to 12:30 pm. The Gallery is closed on Sundays and has limited holiday season hours.
