Biennial Fine Art
Portrait Exhibition & Symposium


February 6th to
February 28, 2014



This exhibit includes
fine art portrait paintings, drawings, and sculpture; features events free and
open to the public; and includes a symposium that convenes master portraitists
and special guests in celebration of renowned artist Nelson Shanks and the
elements of extraordinary artistic success. Opening events include a “paint off trio” with live portrait
demonstrations by award-winning painters, and a Valentine Awards Reception with
paint-off silent auction, live music, and refreshments; all free and open to
the public on February 6th. Come meet the artists!

Thursday February 06 - FRIDAY FEBRUARY 28, 2014 Portrait Exhibition, UConn Stamford Art Gallery

 Thursday, FEBRUARY 6 / Opening events / free
and open to the public

 PAINT-OFF TRIO Live portrait demonstrations by
award-winning painters 4:30 – 6:30 pm,  in the UConn Concourse.

 VALENTINE AWARDS RECEPTION with live music, refreshments, and paint-off
silent auction. Meet the artists. Wear something red! 6pm-8pm, UConn Stamford
Concourse and Art Gallery.

 The Symposium on Friday, February 7 &
Saturday, February 8
Features 14 superstars of portraiture: ANDERSON, BABAILOV,
BOECK, DEL PRIORE, DEVITO, EARLY, GINSBURG, GARCIA, MANCINI-HRESKO, FRED ROSS,
SANDEN, SAPER, SHANKS, SPECTOR, VILLARREAL. Registration is open to all!
Symposium costs $225 for both days.
