St. Andrew's Episcopal Church Black History Month Celebration: Soloist Maydie Myles

St. Andrew's Church is pleased to welcome renowned soul singer and recording artist Maydie Myles to be its guest soloist at 10:00 a.m. Mass every Sunday in February.  Ms. Myles will sing a selection of Negro spirituals each week.  Planned Sunday, February 9, 2014: JOSHUA FIT THE BATTLE OF JERICO; STEAL AWAY.

Ms. Myles is an accomplished vocalist, who also sang and recorded under the name Debbie Taylor (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Debbie_Taylor).  She began singing gospel in her father's church in Norfolk, Virginia, and toured nationally as a gospel singer as a teenager.  She has recorded with the Decca, Polydor and Arista record labels, and her album, Comin' Down on You, released by Today Records, is considered groundbreaking in the soul genre.  We are honored to have Ms. Myles be a part of our service.  Please join us!

St. Andrew's is a welcoming Anglo-Catholic parish located in the heart of downtown Stamford.  Our services are in traditional language, and reflect the beauty of the Anglican and Catholic traditions of liturgy and music.  We are inclusive and open to all, and hope that you soon will join us for Mass on Sunday mornings, or on weekdays at 12:10 p.m.
