SPA FOR THE SPIRIT Retreat Morning

"HOW TO HAVE A CONVERSATION WITH GOD"

Spa for the Spirit, the monthly retreat
morning at Church of Christ the Healer, resumes after a summer hiatus on
Saturday, September 7th
. Starting with breakfast at 8:30, this time of retreat
will explore prayer in many forms. “We often think of prayer as what we say to
God,” says the Rev. Kate Heichler, who will lead this retreat. “God
communicates with us in many ways – through art, music, nature, scripture, silence.
We’ll explore some of those ways.” Participants will learn about – and seek to
experience – different ways to communicate with God. Heichler is Pastor at
Church of Christ the Healer, and a spiritual director and retreat leader; she also
leads the Interfaith Council of Southwestern Connecticut.

“Spa for
the Spirit” is held the first Saturday of each month on the church’s peaceful
grounds in North Stamford, offering participants a chance to get away for a few
hours, to rest, recharge and be renewed in a quiet and restorative setting, just
1.5 miles north of the Merritt Parkway. Each retreat morning begins with
breakfast at 8:30 and ends by 12:30, with time for silence, walking, writing,
resting and reflection built in. All are welcome, from any or no religious
tradition. A suggested donation of $15-20 is asked, according to ability.
Reservations are requested - please call 203-322-6991 or email office@christthehealerstamford.org
to reserve.
